The children of Achajur have a new reading corner
On October 5 the community library of Achajur, Tavush region was reopened. On the opening ceremony the president of IBBY Armenia and the director of Khnko Aper National Children's Library R. Tonoyan, Ambassador of Japan to Armenia Jun Yamada and other cultural figures had a speech. The workers of different organizations of book sphere and guests were present. Mrs. Tonoyan congratulated the attendees with reopening of the library, mentioning that it will be new impetus to centralize community's intellectual potential and will be an example for other communities. The library, within the building of Achajur cultural center, opens its doors in front of booklovers in completely renovated, technically equipped and replenished with new books. "Initiative has also aim once more to evaluate the role of libraries and its meaning in the organization and promotion of reading",- she added. Mr Yamada mentioned that Tavush region has become his favorite place in Armenia, and the library must be the favorite place of children. "I think this is the most important occasion in the lives of your children",- told the Ambassador applying to Achajur’s people. After the event with the participation of Achajur community’s children, ambassador of Japan Mr Jun Yamada and Mrs Tonoyan with the community leader K. Ghaltakhchyan participated to ribbon cutting ceremony. Let us mention, that the library was reopened with IBBY Armenia and Khnko Aper National children's library initiatives, with the support of IBBY Yamada Fund. Tavush's provincial administration and Achajur municipality, businessmen have supported to the renovation works , and the collection of the library was replenished by new and colorful more than 500 donated children's books of Edit Print, Zangak, Antares, GSM publishing houses, and Noyan tapan , Bookinist bookstores. Letters of appreciation were handed to all supporters of the initiative.
